Yamaha R1 “D-Mode” Variable Engine Mapping

The R1 is engineered to provide ample engine power on demand. Power with or situations when you want lot of mid range power and then there those situation when you like little power response (may be in corners).  Yamaha’s exclusive drive mode variable throttle controlled valve mapping enables you to choose the variable situations while you drive your bike on the track. Standard mode which delivers optimum overall performance for wide variety of riding conditions. A-mode which is designed to deliver even more sporty output in mid range RPM conditions. B-Mode is a slightly more gentle variation for low traction or difficult situations like wet roundabouts and the like. It has specially sensitive throttle up ratio like inconvenient weather or some unfair road conditions.
